  • In order to minimize the risk of possible side effects and complications of facial fillers please follow these simple steps:

    • Schedule your facial filler appointment at least 4 weeks prior to a special event that you may be attending, such as a wedding or a vacation. Bruising and swelling may be apparent for up to two weeks after your treatment and you may require refinement after the original treatment.

    • Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours prior to treatment, as it can thin the blood and increase the risk of bruising.

    • Avoid anti-inflammatory/blood-thinning medications, if possible, for a period of 2 weeks before treatment. Medications and supplements such as Aspirin, Vitamin E, Ginkgo Biloba, Ginseng, St. John’s Wort, Omega 3/Fish Oil supplements, Ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil, Aleve, and other NSAIDS thin the blood and can increase the risk of bruising and swelling after injections.

    • Discontinue Retin-A use 2 days before and 2 days after treatment.

    • If you do not feel well, have a rash, cold sore, or blemish in the treatment area, please reschedule at least 24 hours in advance.

    • If you have previously suffered from facial cold sores, there is a risk that the needle punctures could contribute to another outbreak of cold sores. Please let us know so you can be prescribed antiviral medication prior to treatment.

    • Avoid dental procedures (including cleaning) and vaccinations 4 weeks pre-treatment and post-treatment.

    • Be sure to have a solid meal, including food and drink, the morning before your procedure. This will decrease the chances of lightheadedness during your treatment.

    • Please arrive at the office with a clean face. NO makeup, tinted moisturizer, sunscreen, etc.

    • You may not receive treatment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

As you prepare for your treatment please notify Alchemy staff of any changes to your medical history, health status including any recent vaccinations, or personal activities that may be relevant to your treatment.

Pre and Post Lash Extension Care

    Pre-Lash Extension Care

    1. Do Not Wear Mascara: Avoid applying mascara or any heavy eye makeup for at least 24 hours prior to your appointment. This ensures that your lash artist can easily work with your natural lashes.

    2. Clean Your Lashes: Gently cleanse your lashes using a mild cleanser to remove oils, dirt, and makeup residue. This creates a clean surface for the extensions to adhere to.

    3. Avoid Oil-based Products: Refrain from using oil-based skincare products around your eyes. Oils can break down the adhesive used for lash extensions, compromising their hold.

    4. Consult Your Lash Artist: Inform your lash artist about any allergies or sensitivities, especially to adhesives or other products. This is crucial for your safety and comfort.

    5. Arrive with Clean Eyes: Ensure your eyes are free from any makeup and creams to facilitate a smoother application process.

    Post-Lash Extension Care

    1. Avoid Water for 24-48 Hours: Do not get your lashes wet for the first 24 to 48 hours after application. This allows the adhesive to fully cure and ensures the longevity of your extensions.

    2. Skip the Steam and Sauna: Steer clear of steam rooms and saunas for at least 48 hours post-application, as heat and moisture can weaken the bond of the extensions.

    3. Use Oil-Free Products: Use oil-free cleansers and makeup removers around your eyes. This helps maintain the adhesive bond and prolongs the life of your extensions.

    4. Avoid Curling and Mascara: Do not use eyelash curlers or mascara on your extensions, as this can cause them to clump or fall out prematurely.

    5. Gently Brush Your Lashes: Use a clean spoolie brush to gently comb your lashes daily. This keeps them looking neat and helps prevent tangling.

    6. Schedule Refills: To maintain the fullness and appearance of your lashes, schedule regular refill appointments every 2 to 3 weeks, depending on your natural lash growth.

By following these pre and post-care guidelines, you can ensure that your lash extensions look beautiful and last as long as possible.
